The 24-hour cancellation option can be particularly useful if you have just booked your flight.
For eligible bookings made at least 7 days before departure, cancellation within 24 hours of purchase may qualify for a full refund. If you're uncertain whether your reservation meets the requirements, contact +1-888-829-1465 for assistance.
Do not assume that every ticket qualifies automatically. Check the conditions attached to your particular reservation before canceling.
Refund for a Non-Refundable American Airlines Ticket
A non-refundable ticket generally does not qualify for a cash refund simply because you no longer want to travel. However, certain exceptions may apply.
Depending on the circumstances, refund eligibility can arise from qualifying schedule changes, airline cancellations, applicable 24-hour cancellation rules, or other circumstances covered by the airline's policies.
If you have a non-refundable ticket and want to understand your available options, +1-888-829-1465 can provide assistance with the cancellation process.
What If American Airlines Cancels Your Flight?
When the airline cancels a flight or makes a qualifying significant schedule change, passengers may have additional options.
Depending on the circumstances, an eligible passenger may be able to request a refund rather than accept an alternative itinerary. If your flight was canceled, review your available options before accepting a replacement flight.
Keep your confirmation code and ticket information available when requesting help. For general travel-support assistance, +1-888-829-1465 may also be available.
